Homemade Chicken Broth is yummy AND healthier than the average chicken broth cubes.

It has a lot less sodium, and you get the nutritional benefits from the chicken bones!

Chicken Broth

Ingredients

Leftover chicken carcass

Leftover vegetable scraps, particularly carrots, celery, and onion scraps

bold italic underline

Instructions:

Dump all of your scraps and carcassy bits into a pot. Cover with water and put on stovetop at high until boiling.

Once boiling, bring liquid to a simmer and cover. Leave simmering for 3 to 6 hours.

You can add herbs if you'd like. If you have access to freshly grown whole herbs like rosemary or parsly or basil, add them in! Possibly wait until later in the simmering and don't add too many or the flavor may be too strong.
